Ubud
Ubud is a treasure trove of culture that pulses at the heart of Bali. It's worth a visit for so many reasons, but let’s dive into the most delightful ones!
We picked the start of November for our adventure, as it heralds the rainy season on the island. Between the dramatic, quick downpours, there’s a generous sprinkle of sunshine and a chance to roam the island without bumping into throngs of tourists. Many places to stay offer sweet discounts, and you can saunter into fantastic restaurants without waiting in line or needing a reservation. In Ubud, we nestled into a glamping tent right in the tropical forest by the river. This gave us the perfect mix of peaceful nature vibes and close encounters with birds and wildlife, all while being just a 30-minute drive from the lively center of Ubud, buzzing with cafes, restaurants, shops, and temples.
